The Unitarian-Universalist Church of Norwich was fortunate to have beautiful stained-glass windows throughout the sanctuary and the Smith Room, but in most cases, we've lost touch with the families who originally were a part of the church and for whom the windows were named. Take a look at the beautiful windows pictured below - if you know the family, or if the people for whom the windows are named are a part of your family, please get in touch with us - we'd love to get to know you and to know more about the people honored on the windows of our former church building.
This magnificent window faces into the Smith Room, and is easily visible from Broadway street as you head up the hill from Norwich City Hall (the church is on the same side of the street as City Hall). The name at the center is pictured at the right - Mr. Charles Tracy, listed as Superintendent for 12 years. This beautiful multi-part windows graces the main sanctuary at the UU Church - the nameplate in the middle indicates that the window was dedicated as a memorial to the families of Sebastian Paul Keppler and David Thomas Ruby. If you have information about the history of, or modern-day descendants of these families, please get in touch with us at the email address below - we'd love to know more about them! |
